The white lily symbolizes virginity and metaphoric to Virgin Mary. The tiger lily represents wealth with vanity and innocence.  Stories of the past reveal that women could guess the sex of an unborn baby with lilies and roses. The expectant brother was offered to choose between a rose and lily. If she picks up a rose, the child will be a girl; if lily, a boy. The masculine feature of lily flower symbolizes the long pistil.   The Greeks also suggest the pollen as a symbol of fertility. What a lovely way to discover the unexpected!
